Product Description

These days, everyone has their sights set on Barcelona! The city has become the most-eligible destination for urban travelers. Compared to most European cities, Barcelona is the wild child – the city is more bohemian than historic, and oozes charm with its Mediterranean climate, titillating cuisine and a relaxed vibe that seeps into even its most urban neighborhoods.

Anyone with an eye-for-beauty will fall in love with Barcelona, but the capital of Catalonia is more than just a pretty face! Barcelona is a serious and talent-driven metropolis, with a population that is focused on breaking the mold and making bold statements.

The best way capture this city is to experience it through the lens of one of our excellent guides. On your tour you will get up-close and personal with “Barce” and discover how important it is to know where to look. This creative city is in a constant state of change, and the true spirit of Barcelona is all in the details!

Note: Circle Barcelona does not overlap nor include the usual tourist sites, such as famous neighborhoods (e.g. Gothic Quarter, Park Guell), historical landmarks or museums.

What a fantastic experience! I can’t say enough about our guide Montse. She was knowledgeable, friendly and so accommodating. We walked through the non-touristy neighborhoods and tasted lots of local food. It was great to see the other Barcelona. Thank you Montse! We highly recommend Circle Barcelona. – Marj

The Circle Barcelona tour is not only suitable for first timers to Barcelona, it is also for those who have a prior acquaintance with this wonderful city. Barcelona is a hub of excitement, but also a centre with many levels of diversity and intra-cultural difference. This tour gives you an introduction to this city of contrasts, but also Catalan coherence. Your native guides give you an insight into the place they call home. Circle Barcelona is more than a run-of-the-mill guide through the well-known landmarks, it is a culinary, historical, and social experience. Totally recommended.

After visiting Barcelona’s main attractions (Las Ramblas, Barri Gotic, Sagrada Familia, etc.), I was looking for something off the beaten path, something a little unique. The Circle Barcelona tour turned out to be an excellent choice. This is not a tour of “wow experiences” but rather a very relaxed exploration of less well known neighborhoods with lots of walking. Our guide Montse shared her insights and intimate knowledge of these areas in a very informal way. Maybe we were just lucky but our group had great chemistry (or maybe this tour attracts like-minded people) and it just felt like a day with old friends. We tried a wide variety of foods starting with an informal breakfast of brioche and chocolate drinks in a local park. We also tried different hams at the local market, had great tapas, tried some vermouth and later had a great lunch with delicious wine. There is not a rigid schedule on this tour so we never felt rushed. If you’re looking for something different and fun, I would strongly recommend this tour.

Highly recommend. Barcelona’s tourist explosion has packed more and more visitors into the same small “monument zone.” Circle Barcelona introduces travelers to a bigger and even more interesting city. My wife, teen-aged daughter, and I thoroughly enjoyed our day of discovery with Alex. We were lucky to be the only family, so she gave us a very personalized experience. It was like a friend of a friend proudly showing off the favorite parts of her hometown. There’s lots for foodies to enjoy with stops for cacaolot, food markets for Catalan embutidos, botifarra, and sobrasada, a rustic Catalan bodega for lunch with an obligatory porro mess, and housemade vermut. Alex gently mentioned that paella is really from Valencia and was very pleased when we said that we preferred fideua in Barcelona. As an architect, Alex was expert at explaining the various styles, techniques, and histories of the buildings that typify each neighborhood. It was easy to fantasize about where we’d buy our own pied-a-terre. While there’s lots of walking, the pace was leisurely with time to notice little things and stop to get a sense of the rhythm of everyday life away from the Ramblas.

This tour was the highlight of our visit to Barcelona. Xavier took us to several out of the way locations and helped us to better understand the city and the Catalyun discussion. My wife and I both highly recommend this tour.
